R.C. Slocum to receive Lamar Hunt Lifetime Achievement Award in 2026

R.C. Slocum, former Texas A&M football head coach, will receive the Lamar Hunt Lifetime Achievement Award on November 13, 2026. The honor, the highest from the Texas Sports Hall of Fame, recognizes individuals who have demonstrated leadership and impact on sports in Texas. Slocum coached the Aggies from 1989 to 2002, achieving a record of 123-47-2, four conference titles, and leading the team to 11 bowl games. He stands as the first individual from Texas A&M to win this award since it was established in 2006. The recognition ceremony will take place at Kyle Field's Ford Hall of Champions before a home game against Tennessee.
