UNC faces Ole Miss in College World Series opening matchup

The College World Series begins today with North Carolina taking on Ole Miss at Charles Schwab Field at 7 p.m. ET. Earlier, Troy faces No. 16 seed West Virginia at 2 p.m. North Carolina enters the series as the top team on its side of the bracket, after winning the Chapel Hill Super Regional. Ole Miss, making its seventh College World Series appearance, remains undefeated this postseason after sweeping its regional and super regional matches. The second half of the bracket includes notable teams like Georgia, Texas, and Alabama, all of whom swept their super regionals as well.
