He had previously fought in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Background Born and raised in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn to parents of Guyanese descent, Grant was a World Kickboxing Association middleweight champion before embarking on a career in MMA.
