The cheerful and bubbly Shreyanka Patil was first cast into the limelight when she became the leading wicket-taker playing for the Guyana Amazon Warriors in WCPL 2023. She was picked in the tournament without an international game to her name and ended up with 9 scalps. Having first made an impression playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the inaugural edition of the WPL, Patil’s skiddy off-breaks and handy ability with the bat made her a desirable player in the shortest format. <br/> <br/> It was only onwards and upwards for Patil thereafter. Playing for India A in the ACC Women’s T20 Emerging Asia Cup, she finished the tournament as the leading wicket-taker. By the end of the year, she’d made her India debut after being called up for a T20 series against England. Her greatest achievement yet, however, came in WPL 2024. A vital cog in RCB’s line-up, Patil won the Purple Cap for finishing as the highest wicket-taker after claiming 13 wickets from 8 games including a crucial 4/12 in the final which her side won after beating the Delhi Capitals.
