2026 IMSA Petit Le Mans set for Road Atlanta this weekend

The 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship concludes with the Motul Petit Le Mans on Saturday at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. The 10-hour race features championship battles across all four classes, including Grand Touring Prototype, where Jack Aitken leads Laurin Heinrich by 147 points. Aitken can clinch the driver championship by finishing ninth or better. Other classes have closer point margins, particularly LMP2 and GTD. Practice sessions and qualifying are scheduled for Friday, with conditions expected to be 78 degrees during the race start.
