49ers coach Kyle Shanahan sidelined after serious car accident

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan will miss part of training camp due to severe injuries sustained in a car accident in mid-July. Reports indicate he suffered multiple fractured ribs, a broken nose, and a severe concussion, although his injuries are not life-threatening. Shanahan's absence poses challenges for a team with Super Bowl aspirations as he is a key figure in their operations. Assistant head coach Chris Foerster will manage some of his responsibilities during this period, while offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak and defensive coordinator Raheem Morris will oversee operations. The team focuses on Shanahan's recovery as they prepare for training camp activities in Santa Clara.
