49ers Malik Mustapha faces possible fine after hit on Stefon Diggs

San Francisco 49ers safety Malik Mustapha may face NFL disciplinary action following a hit on Washington Commanders wide receiver Stefon Diggs during Monday Night Football in Week 6. The hit, which appeared to target Diggs’ head and neck area, forced an incompletion on a critical third down play. This led to the Commanders settling for a field goal instead of a touchdown. While officials did not flag the hit during the game, commentators criticized the decision, indicating it had a significant impact on the drive and score. The league is expected to review the incident and consider a fine for Mustapha.
