The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 41-17 in a preseason game at SoFi Stadium on August 21. The Chargers struggled with depth issues, including a significant 83-yard punt return touchdown allowed and multiple procedural penalties, contributing to a poor offensive performance. Quarterback Justin Herbert played for only three snaps, while the run defense surrendered 146 rushing yards. The loss highlights execution errors the Chargers must address as they prepare for their final preseason game against the Rams next Thursday.
