49ers re-sign Ashtyn Davis and Corliss Waitman, place two on injured reserve

The San Francisco 49ers re-signed safety Ashtyn Davis and punter Corliss Waitman to one-year contracts on Monday. These roster adjustments occurred one day after the team initially reduced its roster to 53 players. As part of the corresponding transactions, the club placed cornerback Nate Hobbs and linebacker Nick Martin on injured reserve. Hobbs is currently managing a groin injury, while Martin is sidelined with a hamstring issue. By placing these players on injured reserve at this stage, the organization maintains the option to activate them for a return later in the 2026 season.
