76ers reflect on trade for Nerlens Noel from 2013

The Philadelphia 76ers are revisiting their 2013 trade that brought Nerlens Noel from the New Orleans Pelicans. This move marked the beginning of the ‘Process’ era for the Sixers, coming off the failed tenure of Andrew Bynum. The Sixers traded All-Star Jrue Holiday for the sixth overall pick, which was used to select Noel. Initially projected as a top pick, Noel missed his first season due to a knee injury but went on to play 171 games for the Sixers, averaging 10.2 points and 7.6 rebounds over three seasons before being traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2017. He has since played for several teams in the league, most recently participating in games for the Pistons and Nets during the 2023-24 season.
