Aaron Boone ejected during Yankees win against Angels after check-swing call

Yankees manager Aaron Boone was ejected from Wednesday night's game against the Angels following a disputed check-swing ruling in the 10th inning. With Angels infielder Vaughn Grissom at the plate against reliever Michael Fulmer, first-base umpire Junior Valentine ruled that Grissom did not swing on a 1-2 pitch. Replays suggested the bat traveled far enough for a strikeout, prompting Boone to exit the dugout to argue the call. Boone and pitching coach Matt Blake were subsequently tossed from the game. Despite the disagreement, the Yankees secured a 6-3 victory after scoring five runs in the 10th inning. This marked Boone's fifth ejection of the season.
