Aaron Donald ends retirement and joins the Los Angeles Rams roster

Three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald has ended his retirement and returned to the Los Angeles Rams. Donald, who previously stepped away following the 2023 season, joins a defensive unit currently led by coordinator Chris Shula. The team plans to manage his usage and snap count throughout the upcoming campaign. His presence is expected to anchor the defensive front, creating opportunities for secondary players like Trent McDuffie to increase their impact on opposing passing attacks. The return provides Shula with a veteran defensive centerpiece, a position he has managed without for the past two seasons. The Rams defense aims to build on recent personnel additions to improve their performance for the new season.
