Aaron Donald joins league history with return to the Los Angeles Rams

Three-time Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald is returning to the Los Angeles Rams after two years away from the NFL. The move places Donald alongside a group of notable players who resumed their careers after retiring, including Reggie White, Charles Haley, and James Harrison. Recent years have seen other defensive players return to the field, such as Brandon Graham, who rejoined the Philadelphia Eagles in 2025. Donald’s comeback follows a history of players who sought second acts, ranging from Randy Moss and Deion Sanders to Tom Brady and Eric Weddle. The Rams have previously utilized veteran experience by adding players like Weddle during late-season stretches.
