Abubakar Nurmagomedov will make his return to competition after a three-year hiatus. He is scheduled to face David Zawada in an 84-kilogram wrestling rematch on September 20 at ORA Arena in Istanbul, Turkey, as part of the Global Grappling Series 2026. Nurmagomedov previously faced Zawada at UFC Moscow in November 2019, where he was submitted in the first round. After a split decision loss to Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos in June 2023, Nurmagomedov looks to bounce back against Zawada, who aims to repeat his earlier win against Nurmagomedov. Zawada's recent fight ended in a loss to David Kozma on August 1.
