AC Milan midfielder Youssouf Fofana joins Lyon on a season-long loan
Summary

AC Milan midfielder Youssouf Fofana is set to depart the Italian club to join Lyon on loan. The agreement includes an option for Lyon to purchase the 27-year-old at the end of the term. Fofana, who joined Milan from AS Monaco in 2024, was deemed surplus to requirements by head coach Ruben Amorim. The midfielder did not feature in any matchday squads for the team's opening two Serie A fixtures this season. Negotiations between the two clubs have reached an advanced stage. His move to Lyon may prompt the French side to offload another defensive midfielder to manage their squad depth.
