Nixa senior quarterback Adam McKnight enters Friday's game against Republic needing 87 passing yards to set a new school record. McKnight has thrown for 3,919 yards during his high school career, trailing only the 4,005 yards recorded by 2023 graduate Connor Knatcal. The Eagles quarterback has guided the team to consecutive state title game appearances. Last week, McKnight recorded 224 passing yards and two touchdowns in a game against Joplin after starting his season with 143 yards and one touchdown against Carthage. McKnight, ranked as the state's top quarterback, has committed to play at Missouri State. He has the opportunity to surpass the school passing mark during the upcoming home game against Republic on September 11.
