Adley Rutschman debuts for Red Sox in Triple-A rehab game

Adley Rutschman made his debut for the Worcester Red Sox on August 8, 2026, in a rehabilitation game after dealing with left wrist inflammation. He went 1-for-2 with a two-run double, drew two walks, and threw out a runner in five innings. The catcher, acquired from Baltimore at the trade deadline, has been on the injured list since July 20 but is optimistic about his recovery progress. Rutschman expressed excitement about joining his new team and noted the positive energy he felt from the fans and the clubhouse. Worcester secured a commanding 19-0 victory over Lehigh Valley in the same game.
