AEW to host first Survival of the Fittest match for TBS title

Willow Nightingale vacated the TBS championship due to injury last week, and she was also forced to pull out of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. On tonight’s (May 30) episode of AEW Collision, the commentary team announced how a new champion will be determined. There is going to be a 6-woman Survival of the Fittest match for the TBS title on the July 1 episode of Dynamite in San Diego. Six qualifying matches will take place between now and then to see who advances to the title match. This is the first time AEW has ever booked a Survival of the Fittest match, which we just saw this month at ROH Supercard of Honor. It’s essentially a six-pack elimination match. AEW’s social media team is so excited by this gimmick finally coming to Dynamite that they stylized it in all caps. Sure, why not? BREAKING!
