AFA announces Recopa de Campeones tournament to start in 2027

The Argentine Football Association (AFA) has announced the creation of the Recopa de Campeones, set to begin in 2027. This new tournament will feature a triangular format involving the champions of the Copa Argentina, Supercopa Argentina, and Supercopa Internacional. The decision was made by the Executive Committee of the Professional Football League during a meeting in Ezeiza. In addition, beginning in 2027, semifinals of various tournaments will be held at neutral venues to accommodate supporters from both teams, and transfer windows will align with other CONMEBOL schedules.
