AFC Bournemouth stadium expansion begins with groundbreaking ceremony

AFC Bournemouth held a groundbreaking ceremony to commence expansion of their stadium, aiming to increase capacity from approximately 11,300 to over 20,000 seats by the summer of 2027. The project, which includes rebuilding the south stand and expanding the north and east stands, received approval from the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council. Jim Frevola, the club's president of business, expressed excitement about addressing community concerns related to attending matches. Next season marks the first time Bournemouth will compete in European football in its 125-year history.
