AFL confirms venues and times for 2026 preliminary finals

The AFL has finalized the schedule for the 2026 Toyota AFL Finals Series preliminary matches. Sydney will host Fremantle at the SCG on Friday, September 18, with the opening bounce scheduled for 7.40pm AEST. On Saturday, September 19, Hawthorn hosts Brisbane at the MCG at 5.15pm AEST. This twilight timeslot for the second match allows for potential travel logistics for Brisbane. Tickets for the Sydney match go on sale via Ticketmaster on Monday, September 14, starting with club members at 10am AEST. Tickets for the Hawthorn and Brisbane encounter will be available through Ticketek, with priority access for competing club members also beginning at 10am AEST. General public tickets for both matches become available at 3pm AEST on Monday.
