Ahkello Witherspoon announced his retirement from the NFL, officially placed on the reserved/retired list on August 4, 2026. The 31-year-old cornerback had a brief tenure with the Seattle Seahawks before being traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers and then signing with the Washington Commanders earlier this year. Over his nine-year career, Witherspoon started 64 games and recorded 13 interceptions with the San Francisco 49ers, Steelers, and Rams. His career concluded following an offseason with Washington, where he did not make the final roster after training camp.
