AJ Brown expects strong performance with Patriots quarterback Drake Maye
Summary

Wide receiver AJ Brown enters his first season with the New England Patriots following a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles. Insider Doug Kyed suggests Brown is positioned for a strong season, noting the 29-year-old veteran represents a significant target for quarterback Drake Maye. Brown, who earned three-time All-Pro honors in his career, sought a change of scenery after experiencing tension regarding his usage in Philadelphia. During training camp, the receiver tested himself against defensive backs including Quinyon Mitchell, Sauce Gardner, and Christian Gonzalez. The Patriots acquired Brown in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 first-round pick. Analysts consider the move an upgrade for the New England passing attack compared to the team's previous roster configuration.
