AJ Smith-Shawver excels as Gwinnett tops Jacksonville in Minor League

AJ Smith-Shawver pitched 5.2 innings for the Gwinnett Stripers, allowing 2 runs and striking out 6 in a win against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. Smith-Shawver's performance, alongside the professional debut of 26th overall pick Carter Beck, highlighted a significant week of player movement for the Braves' minor league affiliates. Patrick Clohisy contributed with 2 hits and 2 RBIs, though his recent performance has shown signs of struggle. Smith-Shawver's ongoing development is being closely monitored as he aims to secure a spot in the major leagues after returning from Tommy John surgery.
