AJ Styles expresses concern over Bron Breakker's WWE booking

Bron Breakker’s loss to Seth Rollins in a steel cage match at Night of Champions brought some grumbling about Breakker’s main roster run from fans, and frustrated fans felt validated when rumors about the former two-time NXT champ being unhappy with his own booking surfaced early this month. That rumor raised the topic’s profile, and led to takes by those of us whose livelihood’s depend on conversations about professional wrestling. And then, “what is WWE doing with Bron?” became an even bigger discussion after the new season of Netflix’s Unreal came out last week. An early episode featured a scene of WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque shooting down a pitch for Breakker to win the 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble match, and takes are really flying now. Enough so that new WWE Performance Center coach AJ Styles himself is expressing concern about how Rick Steiner’s son’s being handled by his bosses at the next level. Styles brought it up on his weekly Phenomenally Retro Podcast. AJ is willing to wait a bit to see how The Vision story plays out, but he thinks Bron should already be holding a World title: “How long are we going to wait for Bron Breakker to be heavyweight champion? He should be next. I think that he’s definitely a star right now. Why we haven’t put it on him to put the rocket up his butt and send him to the freaking moon? I don’t know why we haven’t done that because he is the destroyer.” “…he had to get a surgery done or he had a hernia or something. But the fact he was out and now he’s back and he’s even scarier than before. Like let’s go! Let’s freaking do this because we all know that it’s all about the chase. The babyface chasing the heel. Bron Breakker is the heel. Man, The Vision’s actually coming back together. They’re healing up and they’re coming back together. So, let’s see what we can do with those guys next. “I’m not saying you got to split them up. That’s not what I’m saying. I’m just saying, I’d like to see Bron as a heavyweight champion, but he’s not in a heavyweight championship match at SummerSlam.” Imagine a lot of you agree with Styles on that last point.
