AJ Tuitele ejected for targeting during Cal game against UCLA

UCLA wide receiver Landon Ellis left the game against Cal early in the second half after sustaining a head injury on a hit from AJ Tuitele. The incident occurred as Ellis delivered a pass to Nico Iamaleava in the backfield. Trainers attended to Ellis on the field for several minutes before he eventually stood up and walked off under his own power. Officials reviewed the play and ejected Tuitele for targeting. While UCLA has not provided an official medical update, Ellis is expected to enter concussion protocol and likely will not return to the game. Cal and UCLA were in the midst of a competitive matchup when the injury occurred.
