Ajax shows interest in Jan Virgili as Barcelona retains stake

Summary

Ajax has identified Jan Virgili as a target to strengthen their left wing, particularly if they sell Mika Godts to PSG. Previously, Ajax has focused on signing players from Barcelona, having already secured Marc-Andre ter Stegen on loan and reached an agreement for Jofre Torrents. Virgili, a former La Masia player now at Mallorca, has seen his stock rise after an impressive pre-season match against PSG. Barcelona retains 40% of his economic rights, allowing them a potential buyback option at a reduced fee due to his decreased release clause after Mallorca's relegation.
