Akron defeats Robert Morris 45-10 behind four touchdown passes from Cibastian Broughton

Akron secured its first win of the season Saturday by defeating Robert Morris 45-10 during the Zips' home opener. Quarterback Cibastian Broughton led the offensive effort, completing 23 of 27 passes for 227 yards and four touchdowns. The team built a 21-10 halftime lead and maintained control throughout the second half, supported by Jordan Gant’s 81 rushing yards and a late touchdown from backup quarterback Brayden Roggow. Robert Morris quarterback Carson Haggard finished with 179 passing yards, including a second-quarter touchdown pass to Galen Combs. The Colonials fall to 2-1 on the season, while Akron moves to 1-1. The Zips are scheduled to play at Minnesota next Saturday, and Robert Morris will travel to face Buffalo on September 26.
