Akron Zips introduce fan-driven ‘Offensive Coordinator of the Game’ contest

Akron football will launch the 'Offensive Coordinator of the Game' contest, allowing a season-ticket holder to script the opening plays for the home opener against Robert Morris on September 12. The idea stemmed from discussions among UA officials, including coach Joe Moorhead, AD Andrew T. Goodrich, and deputy AD Matt Pottorff. Goodrich was inspired by fan enthusiasm during the NCAA men’s basketball tournament earlier this year. The winner, chosen randomly, has been decided and will be announced on August 25.
