Alabama has officially named Luke Metz as a starting inside linebacker for its season opener against East Carolina on September 5. Defensive coordinator Kane Wommack announced that Metz will start alongside Virginia Tech transfer Caleb Woodson. Metz, now in his second season, contributed to all 15 games last year, primarily on special teams.
