Alabama prepares hydration stations for season opener against East Carolina

The University of Alabama will implement additional hydration measures for the season-opening game against the East Carolina Pirates on September 5. Due to an 11 a.m. kickoff and expected heat index levels reaching 106 degrees, stadium officials are adding more water tanks, referred to as water monsters, to Bryant-Denny Stadium. Fans may fill any non-glass container for free at these locations. The university has also updated its interactive map to help attendees navigate road closures, parking, and fan amenities. Tuscaloosa remains under a heat advisory through 8 p.m. on the day of the game. Local officials advise attendees to begin hydrating on September 4 and to contact stadium staff or emergency personnel immediately if they experience symptoms related to the heat.
