Alastair Chalmers of Guernsey competed in the 400m hurdles semi-final at the European Championships on August 12, 2026, finishing seventh with a time of 49.71 seconds. Chalmers fell back in the final 150 meters after starting strong. He missed the finals, ending his 2026 competition season after also placing sixth in the Commonwealth Games final earlier this month.
