Alcorn State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff prepare for Southern Heritage Classic

The 37th edition of the Southern Heritage Classic is scheduled for September 12 at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis. Alcorn State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff will meet in the matchup for the second consecutive year. Founder Fred Jones remains committed to the event despite the absence of longtime participants Jackson State and Tennessee State. Recent renovations to the stadium will allow the bands from both universities to perform from their respective sides of the field. Organizers expect between 20,000 and 25,000 fans to attend the game. The event is contractually secured to be held on the second Saturday of September through 2032.
