Alec Bohm's free agency outlook appears dim after challenging season

Alec Bohm's tenure with the Philadelphia Phillies is likely over as he heads into free agency. A MLB executive expressed concern over Bohm's prospects, noting that his recent performance could lead to a 'prove-it' deal for the 2027 season. Despite previously being an All-Star in 2024, Bohm's struggles in 2026 have diminished his market appeal. The executive indicated that while Bohm possesses solid skills as a right-handed corner infielder, deficiencies in defense and power could hinder his free agency options. Bohm's decision-making this offseason will be critical, as he must weigh a potential lower multi-year deal against the chance to rebuild his value one year before hitting the market again.
