Alek Jacob's family loses home in Spokane fire

Alek Jacob, a pitcher for the San Diego Padres organization, has lost his childhood home in the Old Trails fire in Spokane, Washington. The fire occurred last weekend, leaving Jacob's family and their pets safe but resulting in the loss of all their belongings. A GoFundMe page launched by a friend has raised over $29,000 to support the family, who lived in the home for 24 years. Jacob, who is currently with Triple-A El Paso after appearing in three major league games this year, shared images of the devastation on his Instagram account. Other players, including Troy Johnston and Gabriel Hughes, have expressed their support and concern for those affected by the fires.
