Alek Thomas, former Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder now with the Oklahoma City Comets, collided with a mascot during pregame warm-ups on July 25 in Sacramento. The Sacramento River Cats mascot, Dinger, on an electric scooter, ran into Thomas as he exited the dugout. Both fell but emerged uninjured. Playing that night, Thomas went 0-for-4 in the game, continuing a challenging season. He was previously designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks in May after struggling at the plate.
