Alex Afari Jr. practices with Kentucky while awaiting eligibility decision

Kentucky linebacker Alex Afari Jr. is back with the team during practice as he awaits a ruling on his eligibility for the upcoming season. Head coach Will Stein confirmed that Afari Jr. has been cleared to practice based on SEC compliance guidance, but will not be able to participate in games until a decision is made. Afari Jr. previously left Kentucky after a solid career and went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft, but after considering a return to college football following a recent court ruling, he is now on the field with the Wildcats. Kentucky is also facing challenges, as transfer linebacker Antonio O'Berry has been ruled ineligible by the NCAA for the season.
