Alex DeBrincat expresses desire to remain with Detroit Red Wings

Detroit Red Wings forward Alex DeBrincat stated his intention to remain with the team despite ongoing transitions in leadership. Speaking at the NHL/NHLPA North American Player Media Tour on September 8, DeBrincat said he wants to continue playing for the organization where he led the team in goals and points last season. The team is currently searching for a new general manager following the departure of Steve Yzerman. This situation differs from that of team captain Dylan Larkin, who requested a trade earlier this summer. DeBrincat noted that he has not spoken to Larkin regarding the trade request and maintains that the team is better with the captain in the lineup. The Red Wings are scheduled to begin training camp on September 17.
