Alex Karaban selected 29th overall by Cleveland Cavaliers in NBA Draft

Alex Karaban, a former UConn standout, was chosen No. 29 overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2026 NBA Draft held on June 24. The Southborough, MA native was traded to the Sacramento Kings for the No. 34 pick and a future second-round selection. Karaban had a notable college career, finishing as UConn's all-time leader in wins and career three-pointers made while helping the team secure two national championships. His selection marks a significant milestone, as he is the first player from Central Massachusetts to be drafted since Michael Bradley in 2001.
