Alexander Volkanovski aims for lightweight title fight with Justin Gaethje

UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski is set to defend his title against No. 1 contender Movsar Evloev on October 24. Volkanovski has expressed interest in a superfight for the lightweight title with Justin Gaethje, who recently won the lightweight championship. While Volkanovski has lost twice to former champion Islam Makhachev, with Makhachev now at welterweight, Volkanovski believes a matchup with Gaethje is feasible. Volkanovski's fight against Evloev is crucial, as a victory could lead him closer to the lightweight title pursuit. However, the possibility of a fight with Gaethje remains uncertain, especially given the implications for division rankings and contenders.
