Alexia Putellas joins London City Lionesses after leaving Barcelona

Alexia Putellas has signed with London City Lionesses on a free transfer after departing Barcelona. The Spain international, who captained Barcelona to their fourth UEFA Women’s Champions League title, chosen the Lionesses over interest from NWSL club Boston Legacy. Putellas, a two-time Ballon d'Or winner, left Barcelona after 14 years, during which she achieved significant success, including ten Primera Division titles. London City Lionesses have already made notable signings, including goalkeeper Mary Earps, as they aim for ambitious goals in the upcoming season.
