Alexis Mac Allister previews Liverpool opening match against Atletico Madrid

Liverpool begins its Champions League campaign tomorrow at Anfield against Atletico Madrid. Midfielder Alexis Mac Allister expressed confidence in the team’s ability to win the tournament, citing the squad's development and the tactical implementation of coach Andoni Iraola. Liverpool has failed to advance beyond the quarter-finals of the competition since 2022, suffering consecutive exits to Paris Saint-Germain in recent years. Mac Allister emphasized the importance of collective unity and home support in creating an advantage during European fixtures. The midfielder noted the difference in intensity between Europa League and Champions League nights as the club prepares for the upcoming group stage opener.
