Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid advance at the US Open

Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid began their campaign for a sixth wheelchair doubles title at the US Open with a 6-3 6-1 victory over Stephane Houdet and Zhenxu Ji in New York. The British top seeds secured their place in the semi-finals, where they will face 2025 champions Tokito Oda and Gustavo Fernandez. Hewett and Reid hold 25 Grand Slam doubles titles together and are scheduled to start their singles tournaments on Wednesday. Elsewhere in the quad wheelchair doubles draw, Andy Lapthorne and Leon Els recorded a 7-6 6-5 6-1 victory against David Wagner and Andrew Bogdanov. Meanwhile, top seeds Niels Vink and Guy Sasson maintained their winning streak by defeating Greg Slade and Heath Davidson 6-0 6-0. Vink and Sasson have claimed all three Grand Slam titles so far in 2026 and hold the last six major trophies.
