Ali Truwit prepares for Para Pan Pacific Championships and LA 2028

Ali Truwit resumes training for international competition in swimming after taking 2025 off. Truwit, who won two silver medals at the 2024 Paralympics after a shark attack led to the amputation of part of her leg, is set to compete in the Para Pan Pacific Championships from August 28-30 in Walnut, California. While training, she focuses on enhancing the visibility of Paralympic athletes through her nonprofit initiatives, including the Stronger Than You Think Performance Incentive Fund for U.S. Para swimmers. Truwit aims to capitalize on the upcoming 2028 LA Paralympics, which she believes will significantly uplift the perception of Paralympians and athletes with disabilities.
