Alice Tai wins gold in women's 100m backstroke

Alice Tai claimed gold for England in the women's 100m backstroke S9 at the Commonwealth Games on July 26. Tai successfully defended her title, finishing 2.13 seconds ahead of Australian silver medalist Gemma Sellic and over three seconds clear of bronze medalist Victoria Belando Nicholson. Oliver Morgan earned silver in the men's 200m backstroke, narrowly defeating teammate Luke Greenbank for the second spot on the podium. While Greenbank set the fastest semi-final time, he finished behind South African Pieter Coetze. The results mark another strong showing for England in the swimming events at the Games.
