Alisha Palmowski aims to increase female participation in F1 Academy racing

F1 Academy driver Alisha Palmowski is advocating for increased female participation in motorsport as she competes in the international series. The 19-year-old from Manchester began her journey in go-karting as a hobby at Trafford Park before moving into the professional ranks. She currently races with support from Red Bull Racing and highlights the visibility of the F1 Academy in front of millions of fans as a tool to inspire the next generation. Palmowski often competed alongside few female drivers during her early career but notes that the is changing as more girls take up the sport at the grassroots level. She cites the late Lella Lombardi, the only female to ever compete in Formula 1, as a primary inspiration for her own career goals. Palmowski is scheduled to race next in Austin, Texas, this October.
