Alison Lee qualifies for the U.S. Solheim Cup team as a mother

Alison Lee secured a spot on the 2026 U.S. Solheim Cup team, becoming the first American player since 2011 to qualify automatically after giving birth. She is the only mother competing in the 24-player event scheduled for September 11-13 at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, Netherlands. Lee earned her place through a consistent performance on the LPGA Tour this season, including top-15 finishes and a share of fifth place at the KPMG Women’s PGA at Hazeltine. To maintain her routine and support her 16-month-old son, Levi, Lee is traveling with her parents to the competition. The last mother to compete in the Solheim Cup was Suzann Pettersen, who played for the European team in 2019. Lee’s qualification follows a six-month stretch of travel and competition aimed at securing her spot on the roster.
