Alonso urges Palmer to focus on Chelsea after England snub

Summary

Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso expressed satisfaction with Cole Palmer despite his omission from the England squad. Following feedback from England manager Thomas Tuchel about missed opportunities, Alonso encouraged Palmer to concentrate on his performances at Chelsea, where he has five goals and three assists this season. Alonso acknowledged Palmer's contributions but noted his recent red card against Tottenham as a hurdle. Chelsea, currently fourth in the Premier League, may have key goalkeeper Emi Martinez returning this weekend following a fractured jaw injury, as he has been cleared for training in a protective face mask.
