Amare Thomas prepares for University of Houston football game against Oregon State

Amare Thomas has developed into a top receiving target for the University of Houston following a youth career shaped by his father, Wayne Thomas. After learning football fundamentals in his backyard, the Alabama native played at Pinson Valley High School before spending two seasons at UAB. Thomas recorded 115 receptions and 11 touchdowns during his time with the Blazers. He joined the University of Houston program and finished his 2025 season with a two-touchdown performance in the Texas Bowl.
