Amarri Monroe, the former MAAC Player of the Year, has committed to Syracuse men's basketball effective August 4, 2026. Monroe, a 6-foot-7 forward, averaged 15.6 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.3 steals last season at Quinnipiac. He was granted a fifth year of eligibility following a U.S. District Court ruling in Colorado, but the NCAA is expected to appeal this decision. Prior to joining Syracuse, Monroe led Quinnipiac to two MAAC Regular Season championships and had a successful college career despite challenges. He plans to bring his defensive skills and versatility to the Orange roster, following a season in which he considered options in the transfer portal.
